Is do not know about you, but sometimes I struggle with getting bulky “intersections” to lay flat. Well, with the help of one of my quilty friend's, Sandy, I have the perfect solution. Thank you, Sandy, for providing these wonderful pictures of your beautiful work.
Making your Block
First, let’s create your pinwheel block with (4) Half Square Triangles (HST). You can refer to my magic 8 blog (click here) to achieve 8 HSTs at a time. Lay out your (4) HSTs to form a pinwheel. Make sure that your triangles are pointing in opposite directions, sew in pairs, and then the pairs together completing your block. Press the seams the best you can.

Reduce the bulk while pressing
Gently pull/tug on the center of your pinwheel seam to open the seam up.

Sometimes you will need to snip/rip a few stitches to get it to release. Be sure these stitches are not within the joining seam.
Once laying down, press it really well making a baby pinwheel
And there you have it!! Isn’t that handy dandy? Be sure to share your perfect pinwheel seam in The Southern Bobbin Facebook group. Our group has free sew alongs, lots of information, and 600+ like minded people.
Until then, may your bobbins always be full.
